About me and my therapy practice

I am a counsellor trained in the person-centred approach, which means that I can work with all sorts of issues but my approach is based on focusing on and responding to the person in front of me.

My aim is to create a supportive, non-judgmental, confidential environment to enable you to feel safe to explore whatever is troubling you. Whilst I endeavour to be alongside you, my aim is not to offer solutions or advice but for us to work together to identify what is difficult and why and how to address those difficulties and find a way through.

I trained at the University of East Anglia and The Norwich Centre and have experience working both as a Bereavement Support Worker for CRUSE and as a counsellor for The Norwich Centre.

I have training and experience working with clients who are bereaved and are experiencing loss, in all of it’s many guises: we often experience loss in many different ways but all can be challenging and difficult to deal with alone.

I've worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression and stress. I'm also experienced in working with clients who are questioning their gender and/or sexual identity and clients who would like help to improve their sense of self esteem and self worth.

Currently I offer both short and long term counselling from The Practice Rooms in Norwich and Rowan House in Hethersett.

My fee is £40 per hour. Concessionary rates are sometimes available for those on a low income and students, please ask me about this.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. The BACP sets standards for therapeutic practice and I am bound by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Profession.

I am currently working online due to COVID-19. When lockdown restrictions are lifted to allow working face to face, I offer appointments at Rowan House in Hethersett and The Practice Rooms in Norwich.

My first session

I offer introductory sessions at the reduced rate of £20. The session lasts up to an hour and gives the opportunity for you to say something about what is bringing you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it. I can tell you about the way I work and we can go over things like confidentiality, how often we meet and how long you would like the counselling to last.

The first session is a chance for us to meet each other, for you to have a taste of what counselling is like without any obligation or to go any further.
