About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Ann.
We all might need support at some stage in our life. Sometimes it might feel hard to ask for the help that you'd like. If you're reading this then perhaps it's the first step.
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Struggling to cope? Or do you have a feeling that something ‘isn’t right’? Maybe something life changing or traumatic has happened in your life and you're not sure how to cope with that.
My aim is to provide a safe, confidential space where together we can explore issues that might be causing you pain or concern. I strive to create an empathic and supportive environment. I hope that in this environment you will feel really heard, valued and understood and therefore gain a greater sense of well-being.
I have worked with many different people and I feel very privileged that they have trusted me with their stories. I have found that through counselling, people have gained a greater understanding and trust in their own abilities and choices. Many people tell me that they feel they have no-one else to talk to or who really listens. My aim is to provide that space for you.
It’s important that you feel comfortable with whichever counsellor you choose. If you feel that could be me and you would like to ask any questions, or book an appointment then please ring or text me on 07954 357563. Alternatively you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org I may not always be able to respond immediately but will endeavour to respond within 24 hours wherever possible. My therapy rooms are based in Peterborough within easy access of the town centre.

My first session
Our first session together will take the form of an assessment session.
I will take some information from you to build up a picture of what your life looks like right now. It's also a chance to explore what your expectations of counselling are and what you would like to gain from it.
The first session is an opportunity to see whether we both feel comfortable working together and to give you a chance to ask any questions.
If after the first session you feel like you'd like to continue we can book a further session. Normally this will be weekly, at least to start with, and on the same day each week, although I can sometimes offer some flexibility with this.
We will review our work together regularly to make sure that your needs are being met and to decide whether you wish to continue.
It is important that whatever you decide feels right for you.
