About me and my therapy practice
We can often go through difficult times and find ourselves stuck and unable to overcome feelings of sadness. Or perhaps unable to make sense of why situations have happened in our lives. It is at these times that it is helpful to have someone to talk to who can offer a listening ear and non judgemental response. As a trained Gestalt Counsellor, I have a warm and empathetic approach to support clients towards a better understanding of self.
Gestalt therapy offers a dynamic way to increase self awareness. The idea of sitting in a room, opposite a stranger, may bring up feelings of uncertainty. I offer the opportunity to explore what this may mean for you, and support you through the process of change.
I offer online sessions via video, audio, live chat and email, and a limited amount of face-to-face sessions
My first session
The first session is about us both getting to know one another. At the beginning of therapy, I may ask you questions about your past and family relationships, to help get an idea of some of the beliefs that you have and the difficulties you may have experienced. I aim to promote a relationship of trust and reliability and will go at a pace that feels right for you. Ongoing sessions are by mutual agreement. There is no obligation to commit to sessions if we do not feel that we are the right fit for one another.
