About me and my therapy practice

Hello, My name is Claudine,

I run a private practice in Hove and Hangleton, East Sussex.

*COVID-19 Update*

During the present Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. I am offering telephone, online (Zoom) and Face Time counselling to both existing and new clients.

I work as an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and believe that everyone given the right conditions is capable of making use of their own inner resources to enable personal growth, self-awareness and healing.

I believe the humanistic approach enables counselling to be uniquely tailored to you by using three different modalities of Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt theories so that you can see what works for you.

I am a fully qualified registered counsellor having completed a BACP Accredited Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a member, I'm bound by and adhere to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Training, qualifications & experience:

Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling

Certificate in Couples Counselling

BA (hons) Social Policy and Psychology

My Counselling Experience:

I have worked in the voluntary sector as a counsellor for As You Are, a low-cost counselling charity in Southwick.

I have worked at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Hearing Voices and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Research Clinics.

Practice description

I see our relationship being fundamental in establishing a therapeutic, empathic, non-judgemental, confidential space. I believe developing a relationship with you is central to working collaboratively and effectively.

"Human beings in their essence are born in connection, they are hurt when they feel disconnected, and healed again in re-connection".

                                                                                     Hedy Schleifer, 2019.

This maybe the first time you've decided to come for counselling, or your returning to explore further. What ever the issue(s), counselling enables you the space to explore and work with your feelings in the here and now, to seek new ways of dealing with the past, and/or to find ways to resource yourself, that free you from old patterns of behaviour or coping strategies that may limit you to experiencing life fully. I believe I can help you, you don't need to suffer alone. We can work on a short or long term basis with the emphasis being led by you.

My first session

Finding the right counsellor can be daunting process and therefore I offer a free 30 minute online initial consultation. During this time we can discuss what you would like to explore, explain how counselling works and its also your opportunity to ask me any questions and consider if you would like to go ahead with further sessions.
