About me and my therapy practice

I offer a variety of therapeutic services, all based on the psychodynamic psychotherapy model (Tavistock and Portman trained)

I work with children and young people from birth to their early twenties, their families, parents and carers as well as external agencies.

I currently have two therapy rooms available to clients, one in Swindon (SN2) and one in Corsham (SN13).

I am also the allocated psychotherapist in a number of schools. Contracts can be made by academic years or on an ad-hoc basis.

My services include one-to-one psychotherapy, joint parent-child sessions, systemic family work, parent support, CPD training course and supervision (both clinical and reflective, either individual or group) for professionals working directly with children, young people and families.

I work with parents as early as during pregnancy and welcome babies and their grown-ups in the therapy room from birth.

My practice is inclusive of all religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

I am experienced in working with anyone who identifies with the LGBTQ+ community.

Practice description

The work starts gradually, to ensure that a child and/or their parents are comfortable with myself and the therapeutic space.

I start with an initial consultation, to discuss your situation and gather information.

After this, a full assessment, over 3 sessions, can be booked. This will give a child/young person an opportunity to get a sense of what it feels like to attend weekly psychotherapy. It will allow me to get a better sense of what may be going on for the child/young person within their inner world and their wider social context.

We all meet again to review the assessment, which is when we decide on next steps. This can be to continue with 1:1 psychotherapy with myself, enter family systemic work or any other of the services I provide.
It may also consist of a referral to other agencies, which I will be able to make or a discussion/meeting with an educational setting to provide guidance and reflective thinking on how to support the child/young person.
