About me and my therapy practice

If you are facing challenging times, I can offer you a supportive, caring and confidential environment to explore any issues and work with you towards healing and a happier and fulfilling future.

Practice description

I work in an integrative way adapting the counselling approach to the needs of my client.   I can offer you the time to talk about your worries, anxieties and challenges, however scary or overwhelming they may feel.  Sometimes it can feel too difficult to make sense of life on our own, and I can offer you the understanding and space you may need.  I am a caring and empathetic listener and understand the importance of building a trusting relationship,   I work in a non-judgemental way, offering a warm, caring and calm environment.

Counselling will give you the time and space to explore your feelings and, working together, we will explore any issues to clarify and understand them more fully, enabling you to move forward in a happier and healthier way.

Whilst my work and experience covers a broad range of emotional and behavioural issues, I specialise in the area of grief and bereavement. I have worked as a volunteer at the St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk, which offered me in-depth, practical experience, broadening my understanding of the concerns and emotions experienced at this very difficult and painful stage of life.

My first session

Sometimes attending Counselling for the first time can be daunting and you may feel apprehensive at the thought of sharing your thoughts, fears and challenges with a stranger.

An initial chat on the phone is helpful and we can then arrange  your first session. In this session, we will go over the nature of counselling and confidentiality and I can answer any questions you may have. We will then begin to explore your concerns and how we can work together. Sessions are 60 minutes long and usually once a week.
