About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Anna and I’m an integrative counsellor working with adults.
I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I regularly work with clients who are suffering from depression and anxiety and who may be struggling with loss, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, stress and trauma.
I have several years’ experience offering talking therapy in an NHS setting, at a women’s centre in central London.
Having worked in complementary health for many years, I have an interest in how emotional stress and trauma is held in the body, sometimes manifesting as chronic pain, discomfort, disease and panic attacks.
I am an integrative counsellor, meaning that I combine different theoretical approaches to suit your needs and pace. These include humanistic, psychodynamic and relational.
You may feel stuck in a rut, or that patterns are repeating and you're struggling to cope. Maybe you're in crisis for the first time or feeling overwhelmed.
Seeking help to explore your difficulties is a courageous step and can be daunting. I aim to provide a warm, non-judgemental and honest confidential space, in which to explore the challenges you are facing. The therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client can shed light on other relationships in your life and provide an opportunity for repair, nurture and healing.
I comply with GDPR legislation and any data you provide is stored securely.
Practice description
I have two consulting rooms, one in Hackney in a well located, mental health and well being centre, E8. The other is in Camden NW1 (please see my NW1 listing).
The Hackney centre is just two stops from Liverpool Street Station and 10 to 15 minutes walk from Hackney Central, London Fields, Cambridge Heath and Bethnal Green Stations.
There are numerous bus links and cycle parks are provided.
I also offer online sessions.
My first session
I offer a 15 minute telephone session (no charge) in order to understand what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping to get out of it. You may have questions about how I work and we can talk about my availability.
If we decide it is right to move further, I will offer you an appointment for an assessment session which will last for 50 minutes, charged at the agreed rate. It's an opportunity for you to understand more about the therapeutic relationship and process and for me to assess if I'm the right therapist for you.
