About me and my therapy practice
With hundreds of counsellors online, it can be overwhelming to choose who to trust. I offer a free 15-minute check-in before we begin working together so you can get a feel of who I am, and how I work.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor. This means that I bring together a number of approaches to provide the best care for my clients, including person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. Initially, we will talk about why you have decided to begin therapy and figure out together your goals for the future. Together, we will understand the belief systems you have learned and, where appropriate, challenge them. We will look at your past and see how it is affecting your life today.
Sometimes therapy can be more creative where we will include other mediums of communication – such as creative writing – into the sessions. At other times, we will set goals and check-in with how you are managing them. I will work at your pace and only with what feels comfortable for you.
I have a specialised interest in addictions, eating disorders, and co-dependency. I have experience working with young people, adults, individually and with groups.
We will meet for 50 min each week.
The amount of sessions will depend on your individual requirements.
My first session
During the first session, you will get an opportunity to understand how I work and ask me questions. You can also assess if I am the right type of therapist for you.
