I'm sorry but I am unable to take any on new clients until 1st November. Also due to the current situation with Covid-19, I am only able to offer video call or telephone counselling.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Person-Centred counsellor and have worked with adults and couples for over 19 years.
As a counsellor, I believe my greatest strength is my ability to create a meaningful connection and therapeutic relationship with another, and, I feel I have the qualities of self-awareness, genuineness, empathy and an acceptance of others all of which I consider to be vital to create a therapeutic relationship with someone who is looking for help, with whatever it is that has led them to seek counselling.
I believe, within counselling, the relationship with another is the therapy and it is the therapeutic relationship with another human being that heals. As a counsellor, I view myself as a fellow traveller, sharing part of another persons journey through life, for as long as they want me alongside them. I feel both humbled and honoured when someone puts their trust in me, and invites me to walk alongside them for a while, and shares with me with their unique story.
I have worked with a wide variety of issues including, anxiety, depression, family and relationship problems, stress, work related issues, trauma, bereavement and couples counselling. I also have significant experience of working with clients on the autistic spectrum. In addition, I have experience and a special interest in working with clients who have experienced a cancer diagnosis and treatment and the associated psychological impact.
