About me and my therapy practice
I work with people who seek to look at and address concerns and patterns in living that might have become obstructive. I offer a space to sit and talk about life: what’s going on for you, what’s working and what might be getting in the way. We will look at how you come to be where you are in life and how you live now. Our conversations will be reflective yet always with an eye to options and possibilities. The confidentiality, regularity and routine of our meetings provide for you to think deeply about whatever emerges, to see more clearly and to choose what next.
My work as a psychotherapist is underpinned by 30 years’ experience of working with individuals and groups in a wide variety of circumstances that give rise to anxiety, stress, conflict, low confidence and inappropriate or self-sabotaging behaviour. I am experienced in working with people who seek to address:
• Anger
• Bullying
• Childhood sexual abuse
• Conflict
• Control
• Depression
• Difficulties in relationships
• Difficulties with eating
• Inertia
• Performance anxiety
• Rape
• Recklessness
• Self-confidence
• Self-harm
• Self-sabotage
• Stress
Training and Qualifications:
UKCP Registered
BACP Registered
Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy, Regent’s University, London
Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, Regent’s University, London
Clinical experience in both private practice and within the NHS.
I am also a qualified coach, mediator and non-practising barrister. I have worked for many years in the legal and commercial worlds. I have a good understanding of the pressures and challenges that many of us experience in those sorts of contexts.
My first session
With Groups
Group Conversations: Six Tuesdays
How am I doing? What do I feel? What choices am I wrestling with? What’s important now?
We build a life both deliberately and by chance. Over time, needs, preferences, responsibilities and desires might change and yet life keeps going and time passes. The opportunity to stop and think deeply about these questions, and more, proves elusive and we might find ourselves out of kilter.
These groups offer an opportunity for conversations about some of the things that you don’t seem to find room in other contexts to describe and explore as deeply as you might. Things that you often find yourself thinking about - or avoiding thinking about - and to which you would like to give some attention. And as you hear yourself and others, you may see through different lenses, ideas may form and life may begin to readjust.
