About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my page.

These are some examples and all important reasons to be reaching out to a therapist. Humans are complex beings and therefore require a safe space, time, willingness and patience to bring an understanding to their complexity. Sometimes we need to stop and think why we do what we do, especially if this feels wrong or unhealthy to us.
My work is psychoanalytically oriented. This mainly means that I believe our past has an impact on our present. It may often be difficult to recognise what is behind our difficulties. You may experience difficulty in making/keeping your relationships, or feeling lost, stuck, depressed, etc. Or something or someone you encounter may trigger an unexpected response in you that you may not know what it is at the time. Or you are feeling anxious and you do not know why. The therapeutic work can help you to understand why you have these difficulties and enable deeper changes.
Coronavirus: I offer short term and long term therapeutic support during these difficult times with coronavirus. In line with the government’s advice, I am not able to offer face to face appointments. I offer appointments through Skype, Zoom or telephone. It is important to be able to talk to someone in times of crisis especially if you are isolated or living alone.
I offer short and long term counselling and psychotherapy. I have over eight years of experience working with children, mental health and providing long term therapy for adults with various difficulties in a mental health charity.
Training and qualifications:
- BA in Psychology, Istanbul Bilgi University
- MA in Counselling Children and Young People, University of Nottingham
- Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy for Practitioners Working in Therapeutic Environments, Middlesex University
- Psychoanalyst in Training, CFAR (Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research)
Currently only appointments on weekdays after 5pm and weekends available.
