About me and my therapy practice
About me
Hi, I am Teodoro, and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor.
Working from the Integrative approach allows me to offer holistic support by using different techniques depending on each client's needs in a confidential and non-judgmental space.
I have specific training and proven expertise in working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem and self-acceptance, focusing difficulties (including ADHD), trauma and sexuality issues. Furthermore, I am a cancer survivor myself, and I could offer you empathetic mental health support on this matter.
As a therapist, I aim to help you better understand who you are through collaborative thinking, identifying the root of your struggles, which has prompted you to seek help and eventually find an alternative path to deal with them.
I am available for face-to-face sessions in Hove. Also, I work online via Zoom within the UK and overseas in the EU and every Spanish-speaking country.
Training and Qualifications
- Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. CPPD Counselling School.
- Certificate in Humanistic Counselling Skills. The Gestalt Centre.
- Person-centred experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD). Metanoia Institute
Additional professional CPD-specific training in:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Working with Suicide
- Working with Trauma
- Time-Limited Counselling
- Working with Eating Disorders
- Neuroscience, Attachment and Therapeutic Alliance
- Psychiatry, Psychopathology and Psychodynamics
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
I am particularly interested in affirmative work with the LGBTQ+ community regarding gender, sexuality, diversity, and relationships (GSDR).
My experience includes working with 18+ individuals in private practice, the NHS, and the charity sector, either online, over the phone, or in person in various settings in London and East Sussex.
Practice description
How will I work with you?
Sharing your thoughts and feelings with another person can be very challenging. I offer a safe, reflective and confidential space with this in mind, with respect for all of your experiences.
I will focus our work on building awareness to understand who you are. You are all the result of your life experiences; identifying the connections between the past and the present will help you find new ways of looking at things and promote change through acceptance.
I firmly believe in mind and body connection and how trauma can affect our self-esteem and the ability to manage relationships and intimacy.
I invite you to contact me if you have any questions. We can arrange a brief, informal discussion about your situation and explore the possibility of starting therapeutic work.
