About me and my therapy practice
There are times when life feels difficult. We can feel very vulnerable when we don't know what to do and our usual ways of coping are not enough. Talking to a counsellor gives you a space to safely explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a relationship that allows you to do that without judgement or advice. Counselling is a very personal process so it is important to choose the right therapist for you.
I offer a warm, collaborative and empathetic approach to support you with whatever you are struggling with. Together we might look at something you have been holding for a long time, or explore new and unexpected feelings and emotions. Whatever brings you to counselling, I offer a supportive and non-judgemental therapy space to be yourself in.
I am a professionally trained integrative counsellor with a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling. As a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I abide by their ethical framework. I work with adults and young people over 16 from all backgrounds for 1-1 counselling.
I am experienced supporting clients with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, loneliness, loss of identity, men's mental health and relationship problems. I have considerable experience supporting grief and loss and am also an accredited counsellor for baby and infant loss with The Foundation for Infant Loss Training. Alongside talking therapy I sometimes work creatively, which can be a helpful way to access thoughts and feelings that are hard to express.
My therapy room is on the first floor of the building, and is close to several car parks and a short walk from Farnham train station.
