About me and my therapy practiceI am a highly qualified Psychotherapist practising in the Chester and North Wales area since 2001. I pride myself on tailor making a therapeutic environment that meets the needs of the individual and makes everyone feel comfortable. Due to my continuous professional development and vast experience, I am adept at working with a wide range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, NLP, Person-centred therapy, Hypnotherapy, Relaxation and Mindfulness approaches amongst others.
After gaining an honours degree in Psychology , I began my Psychotherapy training and became a fully qualified and registered Psychotherapist. Throughout my career I have developed an intense interest in helping people suffering from anxiety disorders, this was evolved from my early work with the 'No Panic' organisation. As a result anxiety, in all its forms (OCD, phobias, panic attacks etc) has become my area of expertise and passion. I have developed a unique way of understanding and working with anxiety that has extensive, deep reaching results by tackling both the individual’s perception of anxiety and reaction to it.
Noting the efficacy of hypnotherapeutic approaches for many individuals, I went on to qualify in Hypnotherapy and have found this to be an excellent tool to employ with people suffering from anxieties, phobias and general mental health issues, should this be requested or felt applicable. While gaining my Masters degree I worked for the NHS in Wales providing one on one therapy for individuals referred by their GP.
I am enthusiastic and dedicated to my job as a psychotherapist. My aim is to not just help you get yourself to a point where you are coping, but to a point where you are thriving!
I work in a relaxed and informal way with people of all ages from all walks of life.
I also offers supervision for other therapists.
Please note that for the duration of Covid 19 lockdown I will be offering video phone sessions to replace my normal face to face ones. Should you prefer a phone session this is available too. Face to face sessions are now beginning to be available on a limited scale to avoid risking spreading the virus.
