I work both face to face and on Zoom . I work on Monday and Tuesday on Zoom; Wednesday Face to Face during the day and evenings till 8PM.
I have found that by working on Zoom I can offer my services to clients from any location. Travel time is minimised for you the client. Working with couples and individuals on Zoom has proved to be very effective.
In person Counselling continues to be an invaluable platform for therapy.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer Counselling to individuals and couples.Therapy gives you the opportunity to explore how life is for you, how you feel about it and how you react during certain situations, all with the aim of finding solutions that work for you. My aim is to provide a confidential, non-judgemental and accepting environment where I can help you explore your issues no matter what they are. Unresolved issues can cause great unhappiness and therapy can help to unlock suppressed feelings and emotions.
I believe that talking to a sensitive and skilled listener can make a real difference. I also maintain that one of the most important factors in your therapy is the relationship you establish with your counsellor. Therefore, I aim to offer you a safe space, without fear of judgement to explore emotions and issues that trouble you.
I work integratively which means that I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches but I am most influenced by psychodynamic ways of understanding distress. In other words, I will be interested to explore with you how the past may be affecting you in the present, how your original styles of attachment might influence current relationships and the defences that you may have developed to protect yourself. I will support you in connecting with your own resources,to explore problems whilst weighing up possibilities.
My first session
After initial contact either by email or by telephone I would arrange an initial session to suit us both. We would take an overview of your Counselling needs, presenting issues, past therapy, medication etc. This session is both for information gathering and to form a relationship with you. At the end of the session I would invite a conversation about how we could work together. If we both decide to proceed we would contract for 6 sessions to begin with. We would go through Confidentiality, GDPR, Contract of terms of working together.
