About me and my therapy practice
Counselling for Individuals, Couples and ONLINE. Counselling for YOU.
I work as an integrative therapist, which means rather than staying with one model of counselling, I use a combination of models and approaches from different theories. I trained as an integrative therapist as I believe this means I can tailor your therapy to your specific needs. I am always happy to discuss my approach and answer any questions you may have.
Online £40 (Individuals Only)
Difficulties with mobility, travelling or the pressures of work and family life can make it difficult to be able to commit to face to face counselling. This is where online counselling with myself can make it convenient and accessible for you to access counselling, but without perhaps leaving the comfort of your home.
Together we can explore and reflect upon what you feel needs to change in your life. Together we can look at alternative ways of managing these thoughts, feelings and emotions, leading to greater self-knowledge and understanding of relationships not just with others, but importantly with yourself. Coming to counselling will be a rewarding and life changing experience.
As your counsellor I am in the unique position of having no preconceived ideas of who you are as a couple, or how you should or should not be handling your relationship. I will offer you both a non-judgemental and safe space, where I will work with you both to find within yourselves the changes and resolutions you want for your relationship. Whether that is staying together or supporting you both to negotiate the end of your relationship, I will work with you both to explore what it is your relationship needs.
My knowledge and skills have developed through my work in my private practice, as a bereavement counsellor and as a counsellor working with clients with physical disabilities and brain injuries. For me, there is always something new to learn from every client I meet and work with. I also have a commitment to regular on-going professional development and clinical supervision every month.
My first session
Coming into counselling can feel strange and anxiety provoking. But the aim for me in our first session together is to help you to feel at ease, and feel that yes, this is something I can and do want to do with Sarah. I can make the changes I want for myself.
When we meet for the first time, one of the first things we will do together it to go through my written contract. This is not with the expectation that you will wish to continue your counselling after our first session together, but this is very important so that you the client, have a clear idea of what it is I, the therapist can offer you. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions that may arise to help you make your decision.
