About me and my therapy practice

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the many therapeutic approaches available. While labels can be helpful, I believe the heart of therapy lies in the relationship we build together. My approach is integrative, humanistic, and relational — informed by over two decades of experience in holistic healthcare, and a deep respect for each person’s inherent wisdom and capacity for growth.

I began my career as an acupuncturist and nutritionist and later trained as a Psycho-Spiritual Counsellor and Core Process Psychotherapist, completing a Master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapeutic Practice at the Karuna Institute. My work is rooted in Buddhist psychology, contemplative practice, and trauma-informed somatic approaches, particularly influenced by Peter Levine’s understanding of how the nervous system holds the imprint of past experience.

I aim to create a safe, grounded space where your experience can be met with curiosity, compassion, and depth. We may attend to the body as much as the mind, exploring how emotional patterns, relational history, and nervous system responses shape your current challenges. I support clients in reconnecting with themselves, loosening limiting patterns, and moving towards greater ease and meaning in life.

Practice description

I offer both face-to-face sessions from my practice base in Cardiff & The Vale and online sessions via Zoom. Sessions last 60 minutes and are usually held weekly, on a consistent day and time.

How long we work together depends on your needs and goals. Short-term work (typically 6–18 sessions) can be useful if you’re seeking support with a specific issue or life event. Longer-term therapy offers space for a deeper exploration of long-standing patterns, emotional wounding, and relational dynamics that affect your sense of self and well-being.

We begin with an initial consultation and, if we decide to continue, we’ll co-create a therapeutic relationship that supports your pace, needs, and unfolding process.

My practice is informed by a deep belief in the healing potential of presence, relationship, and integration - whether that’s helping you through a period of overwhelm, or supporting a more open and embodied way of living.

My first session

Choosing the right therapist is an important step. To support this, I offer an introductory consultation free of charge. This is a chance for us to meet, talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

There’s no expectation to go into depth straight away — we go at your pace. I may ask some background questions to better understand your current situation and history, and you’re welcome to ask me anything about how I work, what to expect, or anything you’re unsure about.

This first consult is slightly more structured than regular therapy sessions. We’ll also cover practicalities such as confidentiality, scheduling, fees for ongoing sessions, and how we review our work over time.

If you decide not to continue, I can suggest other practitioners or resources that may be more appropriate for your needs. My priority is that you find the right support for you, wherever that may be.
