About me and my therapy practice

I offer outdoor therapy to adults in East Sussex, on a short or long term basis.

I have a licence to work from the Ashdown Forest and have a variety of walking routes that we can take. Outdoor therapy offers a unique alternative to traditional therapy in a room or online. We can walk side by side, explore the natural environment together and benefit from the phsycological and phsycial benefits of time spent outdoors in nature. Walking can help facilitate discussion and enable you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a less intimidating setting.

I'm interested in helping you to understand what makes you tick and how you can move forward, with greater self-awareness, clarity and choice. I'm down to earth and understand it can be daunting to reach out for help and start talking. We will take things at your pace, both with what we talk about and with the walk itself.

I have undertaken additional training to work in this way and we will discuss confidentiality outdoors as well as any other concerns before the first meeting.

I am experienced in working with issues such as anxiety, depression, negative beliefs about yourself, stress and burn-out, low self esteem, loss and bereavement, lack of confidence, coping with change and life transitions, work-related issues, relationships, family difficulties and more.

I can adapt my approach to suit you and your unique situation.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Practice description

All sessions are currently taking place online via video-meeting or telphone call, or outdoors (socially distanced walking therapy) due to the Coronavirus.

The Ashdown Forest provides a beautiful backdrop for outdoor therapy. You will need a basic level of fitness as well as some trainers or walking boots.

My first session

The first session is no obligation and provides a chance to talk a bit about what has brought you to counselling at this time and for you to see if you feel comfortable with me. We will meet online first before venturing outdoors.

Feel free to discuss any concerns you might have and I will be happy to answer any questions about what to expect or about how counselling works outdoors, especially if this is your first time seeking therapy.

I will also ask you some questions to help me get a sense of your current situation and make sure I have the relevent expertise to support you. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

The first session will last 30-40 minutes and be at a reduced fee.
