About me and my therapy practice
To me it's vital that everyone's "story" is given due consideration.
My guiding principle is to help you find peace of mind and stability in your life so that you can be yourself and grow in confidence - to find that 'home' within yourself.
I provide a free-from-judgement space where you can explore your ideas and feelings.
Collaboratively, we can talk about your problems, think about how your present way of living may have been impacted by earlier occurrences, and come up with steps you can take to regain a sense of control of your everyday life.
I will customise the therapy to meet your requirements using methods from many therapeutic philosophies, including person-centred talking counselling, creative/CBT activities, nature-based walk and talk therapy, sand tray therapy, and mindfulness relaxation techniques. You might even get to the point where a coaching approach with specific goals is preferable.
The goal of our initial meeting is to establish a rapport and make working together enjoyable.
The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy has me as a registered, active member. I am properly insured and operate in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
Practice description
Currently I am either working solely online or by phone; or in a hybrid way with some sessions in person and some online/phone. However, if you would prefer only appointments in person, please contact me.
My first session
Our first session is to build a connection so that working together is enjoyable and is a chance for you to ask questions and for me to gain an initial assessment of your reasons for coming to therapy.
