About me and my therapy practice

Welcome

I am an accredited and experienced Counselling/ Psychotherapist based in Central London in easy reach of the City, Barbican, Old Street, Angel, Islington and Kings Cross.

Taking the first step to find a therapist can be daunting and already you have made a beginning on finding a way to move forward.

Thank you for looking at my profile. I aim to create a safe and confidential space for you to explore any difficulties, struggles or barriers in your life which may be causing you stress, pain or unhelpful behaviours.

I have worked in a variety of settings including NHS, mental health, Local Authorities, bereavement charities, and educational establishements where I have extensive training on a variety of methods and techniques, including Person Centred Approach, CBT, Psychodynamic and Integrative. I also bring skills, insight and strategies from experience of working as a front line social worker with families and children with the highest ethical standards of care. There are many different reasons for seeking counselling. It may help you to have someone independent to talk too and you may want to have a time and space to reflect, adjust or overcome challenges in your life.

You may be going through a crisis, or you may just want to talk to someone before you feel things getting too hard for you to manage. It may just be that you want to have a safe time and place to talk to someone who wont judge you.

Practice description

Prior to becoming a therapist, I trained in Music, Dance and Drama at a theatre school. I then went on to work in the music industry as a live and recording artist for a record label.

I find that my earlier background in the dramatic arts and musical performance, has embellished my therapeutic skills and provided me with additional specialisms which have informed my way of working as an intergrative therapist which helps me adapt my working to your specific needs.

As your therapist I am compassionate on sharing your journey on a road of resolve. I aim to support you in finding fulfilment and healing, and tailoring my interventions to your needs. At the core of my working is Strength Theory where I believe that through a therapeutic relationship where you are listened to, and where you are not judged your strengths, gift and talents can be more readily realised to help you move forward with new possibilities.

My first session

Our first session will be an opportunity for us to meet (virtually) and find out whether we might work well together. You will have the chance to tell me something about what brings you to counselling at this time, and what you hope to gain from the process. I offer a free initial 20 minute consultation on the phone to gain a better understanding on what has brought you to counselling and to see if I would be the right counsellor for your needs. If you would then like to continue I will book you in for further 50 minute appointments.
