Hi, I’m Anita, welcome to InReach Counselling & Wellbeing. During challenging periods of life, our thoughts and feelings can often be hard to make sense of, I can help you in reaching a more positive place of self-acceptance & wellbeing.Practice description
I work from a person-centred, emotion-focussed approach, which puts each client’s unique journey at the heart of the work. I believe you have the inner abilities to find solutions to your challenges. I won’t tell you what to do or what choices to make, as you know yourself better than anyone.
In working with me, you will not be judged for the choices you are making or have made in the past. However, if these choices are no longer working for you, we will explore alternative ways of approaching your life, to regain that sense of fulfilment & wellbeing. at a pace that is comfortable for you.
My first session
The first session is your opportunity to decide if working with me feels comfortable & right for you. I offer a gentle, non judgemental approach, working at your pace.
I will explain how I work therapeutically & look at the importance of confidentiality & contracting.
You will be able to tell me what you hope to get out of the counselling sessions & help me to understand how you are experiencing life right now.

About me and my therapy practice
If you have an ADHD or ASD diagnosis or feel you are struggling with traits associated with these conditions, then I can help.
ADHD can be hugely impacting on a person’s mental health and is still largely misunderstood. I feel very passionate about breaking down the shame & ignorance that surrounds the myths, that often hold people back from seeking the support they need.
Living with ADHD as a child, is often a very difficult, turbulent time, which impacts on family life, attachments & friendships, learning & schooling, on top of the crippling negative beliefs, isolation & lack of self-worth that become part of how you think & feel.
All these factors take their toll on the individual & as an adult living with ADHD, it can feel overwhelming, leaving the person feeling lost, anxious & low.
In working with me, the counselling process will help you to feel connected with someone that understands the challenging nature of ADHD.
Developing an awareness & understanding of your unique brain wiring is incredibly valuable & forms the basis for self-acceptance, in being able to let go of the self-blame & negative beliefs, that have often formed.
Practice description
As I work alongside you, we can navigate together, your best path through the confusion & overwhelming feelings, experienced in day to day life, which can often leave the individual feeling stuck & helpless.
I believe that through building a safe, non-judgemental, therapeutic relationship, a more resilient, positive way of looking at daily struggles can be adopted, where you can feel more in control of your life.
