About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Liz and my pronouns are she/her.

My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, difficulties arising from neurodiversity, issues of identity, family trauma, feelings of self-hate, compulsive behaviours, grief, loss, bereavement, relationship breakdown, abuse, and suicidal thoughts. Often, clients feel that they are, in some way, at odds with the world, and feel troubled by this.

I aim to provide a place where together we can explore your experience, difficulties and feelings, a process which can help you to better understand yourself, to make meaning, and to find ways in which to live better.

I am passionate about providing access to affirmative therapy for trans and gender non-conforming folk and provide an LGBTQ+ safe space. I especially welcome enquires about concessionary spaces from members of the trans and gender non-conforming community. I strongly oppose the April 2025 UK Supreme Court ruling on biological sex and am a member of Therapists Against Conversion Therapy and Transphobia.

I have a special interest in working with individuals who are facing challenges in living as a neurodiverse person in a neurotypical world.

My training included a wide variety of approaches, with a special focus on existential psychotherapy. This is an approach which considers how we live, how we relate to one another and what it means to be human, all of which are often a source of anxiety.

As well as having worked as a therapist within general counselling and therapy services, I have worked as a volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Care and Maytree Respite Care for people in suicidal crisis.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I had a long corporate career in a professional services firm, including experience of working in the City, and I understand first-hand the pressures that such a life often holds.

As well as being registered with the BACP, I am accredited with the UK Council for Counselling and Psychotherapy (UKCP).
