About me and my therapy practice

I am a warm, experienced BACP Senior Accredited qualified therapist with a compassionate and down to earth approach. Specialising in women’s issues, I work with an integrative model, which draws on different approaches depending on what supports the client best. I have an awareness of a number of schools of thought and approaches (psychodynamic, humanistic, existential, gestalt, body psychotherapy, CBT, logotherapy and narrative approaches) with the aim to practice in a way that is suitable to each unique individual. I have experience with a wide range of issues, including: PTSD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, issues from childhood, challenges with relationships, loss and bereavement. I offer both short-term counselling and longer, open-ended work.

I have extensive experience of working with trauma in the third and public sectors: a nightshelter for the homeless, a specialised service for women facing domestic abuse, an in patient hospice, a day centre hospice and projects in The Mount and Bullingdon prisons. These experiences have given me a chance to work with a diverse client group from different classes, race, religion, and sexual orientation. I have also taught level 6 counselling as a lecturer for Middlesex University.
