About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to my page and I hope you will find it helpful. You are most likely here because you, or someone you are close to, may be going through a difficult time.  I believe that in recognising you are struggling, and finding the strength to ask for help you are on the first step towards changing your current situation.  I will offer you a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space to discuss your thoughts and feelings about anything you may be currently facing, or simply wish to explore. My therapeutic approach is Person-Centred, and in addition I have a good understanding of other approaches, which allows me to be more eclectic within my practice.  I believe that in talking about your issues in an accepting environment where you can be fully heard and understood, clarity can be gained and I can assist you in working towards a resolution that is best for you. Session fees: £45 p/hr (I work to a full hour).

I am experienced in working with adults who are facing common issues such as depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal ideation, bereavement, issues relating to the self, amongst many others.  I also have experience in working with drug and alcohol addiction, having previously worked in a residential rehabilitation service for those suffering with serious drug and alcohol addiction.  I have some experience in working with eating disorders (e.g. Anorexia, Bulimia, and BED) and have worked for a local eating disorders charity.  I have a special interest in diet and nutrition, and how this benefits our wellbeing overall.

In addition, I have recently gained over a year's experience in delivering 'OAAT Therapy' (One-at-a-Time Therapy), also known as 'Single Session Therapy', within the Higher Education sector.  Within this session, we would work with one specific concern you may have (with no necessary requirement to continue sessions thereafter).  Single Session slots are available, please enquire about this.

Please note I work with adults and the elderly only.

Practice description

I am able to offer a mix of face to face or Zoom sessions on a Monday (all day) and Friday afternoons.  I offer short term; long term; time-limited or single-session therapy.

Please note I work with adults and the elderly only in my practice.

My first session

If a Single-Session is requested, I would ask the client to complete a very short pre-session form (either written or completed over the telephone), which will help us to prepare for this session and to remain focused on the key issue you wish to address.  If you wish to enquire further about what Single Session Therapy is, or about my practice in general, I can offer you more information at no cost to help you decide if you wish to book a session.  Please get in touch for further information, either by email or telephone.
