About me and my therapy practiceLife is sometimes difficult, it may be relationships, loss, health or past experiences that cause us distress. There are also times when we are depressed and anxious and have a sense that we are not living the life we would like. Counselling provides a safe non-judgemental space in which you may explore your feelings, behaviour and ways of thinking and relating. So often we are unaware of our patterns of thinking and behaving. In times of stress and worry we cope in ways that we have always used! Often they do not allow us to move forward, but instead keep us stuck repeating old patterns. I will work with you to develop a supportive relationship, in which, you have the opportunity to develop your self awareness and thus make more life affirming choices.
In my work my intention is to build a supportive and understanding relationship with you. Which will provide a solid foundation for us to explore your difficulties and concerns.
My first session
The first session will be an assessment lasting 1 hour. Here we will discuss what you would like to explore in our work and I will also ask some questions about the reasons you are seeking therapy. You will have ample opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification. This session will help us to determine whether we can work together in a way that supports you.
