About me and my therapy practice
Deciding to come to therapy and finding a suitable counsellor can be a daunting experience. You may be feeling lonely, anxious or depressed; or struggling with a stressful life event or unhappy relationship. We can be faced with challenges at any stage of our lives and finding an approachable professional to talk to can feel like a real relief.
With 20 years’ experience as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I can help you explore your issues and difficult feelings within the safety of a confidential and supportive counselling relationship. To book an Initial Consultation, or talk through your personal issues to begin with, please contact me direct by phone or email.
As an Integrative Therapist, I draw on and tailor specific techniques using Psychodynamic, CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Solution Focused approaches. Within the Counselling relationship, you will receive ongoing support and feedback and begin to gain personal insight and understanding.
Giving words to your story and paying attention to your mind, body and feelings in therapy can help you increase your self-awareness, learn new coping strategies, gain new perspectives, alleviate anxiety, improve your mood and heal some of your past trauma, hurts or disappointments.
I qualified as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in 2002, gained a CBT Skills Certificate in 2012 and a post-graduate Supervision Training in 2016. I normally work face to face, but am experienced in providing Skype and Telephone Counselling.
I also provide Clinical Supervision to trainee and qualified Counsellors; and with extensive business and charity sector experience, I offer support for employers, service managers, staff, senior executives and self-employed people experiencing stress/management/or other workplace issues.
