About me and my therapy practice

Hello,  I'm Eileen and I work with both individuals and couples.  In this current situation, my practice is all online and phone-based. I have a lot of experience working in this way. It's easy to set up an appointment and the technology works well. I offer a free 30-minute initial appointment.

I think therapy is for people who have the self-awareness to recognise that they need a helping hand and that is something to be applauded. With counselling and psychotherapy positive changes in your relationships, work and life, in general, can take place, even when those challenges seem overwhelming and distressing. I  regularly work with people experiencing low mood, depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, childhood issues, relationship issues, anger, and feeling 'stuck' in life.

As a couples therapist, I regularly work with straight and same-sex couples in my practice using a model called Imago Relationship Therapy. Imago is a highly practical and effective method which has helped thousands of couples worldwide establish more connected, passionate and joyful relationships. My aim is to provide you and your partner with a safe, confidential and empathetic service. Therefore, my role is to facilitate both of you in exploring and progressing your relationship with safety and connection as priorities. Whatever the cause of your relationship problems the sooner you get help the better the chances of success.

If you are struggling with issues around food and eating why not make an appointment. Combining therapy and nutritional support is very effective and I regularly and successfully work with clients who have disordered eating patterns and challenges with weight. I'm a Licensed Practitioner or the Understanding Your Eating Programme the focus of which is emotional eating.  Why not contact me to find out more?

Practice description

In this current challenging situation,  I offer online therapy and online couples therapy via zoom. Zoom is safe, encrypted webcam software that will allow us to talk about what’s going on for you wherever you are in the world. If you don't have the right technology or would prefer a telephone consultation we can do that instead.

When you are having counselling online you have to take more responsibility for your environment; I’m not there to ensure the correct conditions are provided. You'll also have to make your own cup of tea!  You will need to find yourself a quiet room where you will not be disturbed or overheard.

Imagine if you were having face to face therapy and someone walked in, it would be shocking! Your job is to make sure this does not happen when you have online therapy too.

You will have to make sure you are not going to be overheard by someone in the next room. If you are worried other people are going to hear you, you are less likely to share with me.

My first session

For individuals, I offer a free 30-minute introductory session. This gives you a chance to talk about your difficulties, ask any questions you may have and work out for yourself what you want to do next.

For couples, our introductory session will be an hour and I charge £75. This first session will allow us to meet together, you as a couple will get an opportunity to share what brings you to couples counselling and ask questions. You will have an opportunity to start to learn the imago dialogue process.
