About me and my therapy practice
My role is to guide, assist and help you understand yourself, supporting you through the changes you wish to make. Through authentic and genuine dialogue, we will discover new tools and strategies to find the person you were meant to be.
I offer a holistic approach based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which in layman’s terms means talking. CBT deals with your current problems, rather than solely focusing on issues from your past and is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle.
My first session
Our first session would look at what you consider to be the most important issue that bring you into counselling. And from there we would make a plan to where you would like to go and at a rate that you feel comfortable with.
