About me and my therapy practice
Combining a Performing Arts background with Psychological training and experience has led my practice to a place where larger emotions can be expressed safely, alongside consideration of the personal and collective symbolic meanings that can rise from within and without. Being highly attuned to my own body affords me a degree of trust in what I witness in those I work with. Therefore, potentially seeing further ways to access a truth being held in the body system. Strategies are forthcoming if desired, yet the dialogue is the primary opportunity to affect change.
I work from home and online. A key area addressed early on is how much the power imbalance can be reduced between the counsellor and the client. From there, establishing a space of trust and non-judgement. The subjects discussed are led by the client, in this way whatever is investigated is current to the client's life. With the nature of two people meeting, this dialogue can turn in numerous directions, an open-mindedness on my part can facilitate the client to be brave and share more, knowing they can, because they are being accepted and heard on many levels.
