About me and my therapy practice

At certain points in everyone's lives, there comes a time when life, work, family, loss, or the unhelpful ways you cope with stress can become overwhelming.

I have worked with many people for over seventeen years who have experienced relational difficulties.  I have experienced working with people who suffer from anxiety, depression, work-related stress, relationship difficulties, addiction and addictive disorders, bereavement, and loss.  People who have been in recovery from addiction, and young people who have found self-isolation and lockdowns from Covid-19 too much to manage.  Even though, everyone has stopped talking about Covid-19.

Practice description

I provide six, twelve, twenty-four, and thirty-six time-limited sessions, which continue if agreed by us both.

I also offer individual and/or group supervision for student counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, and experienced therapists.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP Association.  I am a specialist addiction counsellor who works with underlying trauma and provides individual and/or group supervision to trainee and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists.  I am a training group analyst.

My first session

I know it is not easy to approach a psychotherapist for the first time. Speaking with a stranger can feel daunting initially, though once you get through those initial anxieties you could be surprised how helpful it can be talking with someone you have no prior contact with.

In the first session, we will have a conversation and then you decide if you would like to work with me. Then we would have an assessment where I have some questions to ask you about your history and childhood, if necessary, and then we decide if we would like to work together.

I work either face-to-face at Borough High Street, SE1, or on Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Types of therapy

Behavioural, Brief therapy, CBT, Family therapy, Interpersonal, Psychodynamic, Relational, Systemic

Clients I work with

Adults, Families, Groups, Older adults, Organisations, Trainees, Young people
