About me and my therapy practice

I am a UKCP registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist and BACP registered and accredited counsellor offering individual counselling / psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and children.

A psychoanalytic approach takes the unconscious into account, and offers a therapeutic setting in which you can put words to difficult thoughts and feelings through the exploration not just of current difficulties, but of patterns of behaviour, relationships, family history, memories, dreams and significant events, which might lead to a greater self-understanding and acceptance.

While some treatments emphasise symptom removal as the focus of treatment, the analytic approach aims to give you time to think more deeply about the causes of your distress, and to build your own unique solutions.

I offer therapy sessions in London N1 (nearest Overground Dalston Junction, 5 mins walk) London SE1 (nearest tube Southwark 5 mins walk) and in London WC1 (nearest tube Goodge Street 5 mins walk and /or Chancery Lane 1 min walk)

Since I began as a counsellor 18 years ago, I have undertaken two in depth professional trainings, and gained experience working in the third sector as a therapist, and supervisor, as well as within a specialist NHS Psychodynamic Psychotherapy service. I believe that working with young people, enriches my work with adults and vice versa, and currently alongside an established private practice I am a lead therapist in a state education setting where I see children and young people with complex social and emotional needs.

About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to my listing, which outlines a little about the way I work, my training, accreditation, professional experience, and some practicalities.

I am a BACP registered and accredited counsellor and a UKCP registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist offering individual counselling and psychotherapy.

A psychodynamic or psychoanalytic approach is based on the theory that past experiences and unconscious processes affect our sense of who we are and how we act in the here and now. Exploration of this will form part of the work, however no two therapies are the same and how we work together will depend on you, your history, and the current issues you are bringing.
Psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy does not primarily focus on the removal of symptoms, but more on exploring how these have arisen and what part they play in current difficulties, and is therefore suitable for a wide range of presenting issues.

I offer session weekly, or at higher frequency, in London N1 (nearest Overground Dalston Junction, 5 mins walk) London SE1 (nearest tube Southwark 5 mins walk) and in London WC1 (nearest tube Goodge Street 5 mins walk and /or Chancery Lane 1 min walk). My standard fee is £65.00 per 50 minute session.

I began counselling 18 years ago, have completed two professional trainings, an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling for Children and Adolescents, and a Clinical training in Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and have gained experience working in the third sector as a therapist and supervisor, as well as within a specialist NHS Psychodynamic Psychotherapy service.
