About me and my therapy practice

I have over seven years experience of helping people who feel overwhelmed by their feelings and who are struggling with life. Clients often say that they feel they have lost who they are, particularly following a difficult relationship break up. I have helped many clients who struggle with relationships whether they be romantic relationships or with family, colleagues or friends. I have worked extensively with people who are working through the feelings created by a toxic relationship be that with a partner or family member. As this can have particular effects on self esteem, self belief and trusting your own instincts.

You may just be struggling to trust yourself which results in struggling to make decisions or just feeling like your life is built on ever shifting quick sand.

If any of this sounds familiar then counselling can really help, I am here to walk beside you as you explore the past to understand the present and build a better future.

I offer a safe, comfortable and confidential space be that face-to-face or online, for you to explore what it is you need and what is causing disruption in your life. Together we can explore who you want to be, your relationships or the mixture of feelings around all of the above. Ultimately to help you feel more in control or your life.

Whilst much of my experience is with those who have experienced toxic relationships and toxic parenting. I have also worked with both adults and children with a wide range of issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, work related stress, trauma, relationship difficulties and bereavement.

Counselling really is the ultimate in self-care, if you had a niggle with your physical health, you wouldn't ignore it, so why not give your mental well-being the same importance and respect.

I am a Registered member of the BACP (British Association Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their Code of Ethics, I have an enhanced DBS check and I am also a qualified supervisor to other counsellors.

Practice description

I believe in a strong therapeutic relationship being the basis for healing. It is important that you feel comfortable, heard and accepted for who you are and this is what I aim to provide. You can expect a non-judgmental space that we can explore together what you are finding challenging in your life. I aim to walk beside you on your counselling journey helping you to find your answers.

I work from a cosy calm room at my home. In addition I also offer online sessions via Google Meet.

My first session

Your first session gives an opportunity for you to tell me a little more about what has bought you to seek counselling.  I believe the counselling relationship is really important so the first session gives a good indication of whether you feel comfortable to talk to me and if we feel we can work together to reach the outcome you desire.
