About me and my therapy practice
I offer counselling services to individual adults or organisations. I specialise in support with depression, anxiety or stress related health concerns, or physical health related concerns.
Support is holistic, confidential and based in the Person Centred and Integrative approaches (and also use of solution focused, brief therapy and medical-psychosocial approaches when beneficial).
In addition to this, I also support long covid recovery and offer health and life coaching, where targets will be set, progress measured over time and achievements celebrated.
Counselling can help to bring about real and meaningful change in your life. If you are struggling to overcome difficult times; finding it difficult to manage the balance between home and work life and need to cope better with troubling or disabling feelings such as anxiety, stress, anger or depression; or if you’re feeling stuck in a rut, but have goals you want to achieve, I can help.
You will always receive a warm welcome and I will listen carefully to you without judgment. Building trust, feeling safe and being understood is so important, so you feel at ease and able to explore the issues that concern you. I understand that reaching out can be a big step, so you will never be pressured to move at a rate faster than you are comfortable with.
BACP require that we make a counselling agreement together at the start of your counselling and this is to ensure that expectations are clearly set out and that I am abiding by BACP’s Ethical Framework. This will be discussed more fully during our first contact.
I am a therapist with a medical background, having trained as a Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, working previously within the Private Sector, the NHS and Police Service, specialising in Mental Health and Occupational Health and also completed level 5 ILM Coaching and Mentoring training.
