About me and my therapy practice
What can you expect from counselling? My training as an integrative counsellor means that I aim to fit my approach to your individual needs. This may involve exploring how patterns of behaviour from your past affect your present life. Understanding how this happens can be an empowering experience. Or you may wish to focus on a specific issue in your life without going into your past.
I aim to create a safe place in which you feel really listened to and all aspects of your life experience are honoured. Counselling provides the opportunity for you spend dedicated time on yourself, exploring your feelings and perceptions with my support.
Issues that I work with include relationship problems, addiction and OCD, adult problems flowing from unsatisfactory childhoods and parenting, anger issues, anxiety and panic attacks, adoption and boarding-school education. I also work with problems arising from bereavement, sexual abuse, questioning about sexuality and gender, low self-esteem and depression. Additionally, I incorporate mindfulness and relaxation techniques into my practice to help with stress management.
I work long and short-term with adults. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to book a first meeting. For details about the venue, visit www.kingstoncounselling.org.uk.
