About me and my therapy practice
For the time being, I only offer online or telephone counselling. I find that online counselling offers most of the benefits of face-to-face counselling and that clients who were at first wary of meeting online soon find they forget we are not ‘face to face’, with some clients preferring the online experience. I work with a variety of apps, including Zoom, Skype and Facetime. For some, the telephone is the best option, particularly if this is only way that you are able to maintain your privacy.
I have worked as a counsellor in the NHS and for Kingston Borough Council before setting up my own private practice based in Epsom, Surrey.
I am a fully trained Rewind therapist for the treatment of PTSD. I also have training in issues arising from boarding-school education and in the use of mindfulness for stress management. In addition, I have experience helping people with all forms of addiction and, as an adopted person myself, those involved in the process of adoption.
What to expect
My training as an integrative counsellor means that I aim to fit my approach to your individual needs. This may involve exploring how patterns of behaviour from your past affect your present life. Understanding how this happens can be an empowering experience. Or you may wish to focus on a specific issue in your life without going into your past.
I aim to create a safe place in which you feel really listened to and all aspects of your life experience are honoured. Counselling provides the opportunity for you to spend dedicated time on yourself, exploring your feelings and perceptions with my support.
Visit my website if you would like to view a short video in which I tell you about my approach to counselling.
