About me and my therapy practice
I have worked widely in the field of mental health and one to one work. I have been fully accredited for over 15 years. My professional life has been very varied. I worked originally as a psychiatric nurse in the field of addictions. I also worked as a Counsellor for women’s aid. I am a supervisor for trainee and practising counsellors and therapists. I generally see clients face to face and offer Zoom sessions.
Practice description
I am a fully accredited counsellor, therapist and supervisor. My primary theoretical influence is Psychodynamic. Keeping clients safe on their therapeutic journey is of utmost importance. I work from a premise that equalitarianism and respect is a prerequisite for a good working alliance.
My first session
The first session is an assessment session. An agreement and outline of each other’s expectations as well as health and safety concerns.

I generally see Supervisees on a Monday or Tuesday.
About me and my therapy practice
I prefer face to face work and open to other options. Once the Supervisee presents a client we will together to understand the presenting issue. Attention will given to how the counsellor or Therapist feels within themselves about what is stirred up within the self. Regard is also given to the therapeutic theories and practice.
Practice description
I am a Psychodynamic counsellor and Psychotherapist. I was originally a Registered Mental Nurse. I worked for Women’s Aid in Belfast and Wave in Armagh dealing with the effects of the conflict. I have a degree and masters in Peace and Conflict Studies. I hold an advanced Diploma in Supervision. I follow Melanie Klein perspective and it influences my work.
My first session
First sessions deal with health and safety issues and any practical concerns. Also relevant paperwork from the colleges are looked at.
