About me and my therapy practice
My trainings include Psychosynthesis counselling and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I am passionate about bringing together people and horses in a natural setting, and allowing the relationship between client and horses to develop and evolve. This way of approaching therapy invites the client to learn about themselves through their interactions with the horses. Equine Assisted Therapy assists the client to gain clarity and non judgemental loving support for the life challenges they are facing. It is a profound and deep, but gently revealing and supportive therapy that leads the client back towards mental emotional wellbeing and a greater relationship with themselves, and a firmer footing in this changing world. No riding required. I also trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for trauma. I'm passionate too about the healing that the horses and nature can bring to those suffering from any kind of trauma however small or large. I have been working with my current herd for over 13 years.
Session duration is 1 hour weekly.
Following an initial introductory assessment and an introduction to myself and the herd I recommend a block of 8 sessions.
Equine Assisted therapy sessions follow the same format, ethics and protocol as traditional forms of counselling and psychotherapy. A sessions may take place inside or outside. or a mixture of both. They are private and confidentiality is strictly maintained.
