About me and my therapy practiceThere may be many reasons why you are considering counselling at this time in your life. You may feel that there is a specific issue that you are struggling to cope with, a sense of emptiness and confusion that you are finding difficult to comprehend.
Using a psychodynamic approach of exploring both past and present experiences I can help you to clarify and understand your difficulties. Together we would explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and confidential environment. Through the therapeutic relationship, insight into underlying emotional conflicts can be gained, enabling a deeper understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing and the unhelpful patterns of behaviour that you are struggling to change.
I have recently relocated to Italy, northern Tuscany, and my practice has currently moved to solely online.
I welcome new enquiries for online sessions. The option of meeting face to face will be assessed as and when this becomes available.
Alongside my private practice I have been a counsellor with a university student wellbeing service (UK), and I currently work online with individuals at the Highgate Counselling Centre in North London where I have also fulfilled the role of assistant tutor on the counselling skills course.
In addition to my work as a counsellor I have been the project officer for a suicide prevention group coordinating and developing links between statutory and non-statutory mental health organisations across North London.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their ethical framework and guidelines.
Sessions take place using the online platform Zoom video conferencing.

My first session
To begin with we would meet for an initial consultation. This is an opportunity for us to meet each other, to talk about what has brought you to therapy.
An initial consultation is also an opportunity to understand more about the options of open ended or time-limited therapy and to discuss which approach might feel more appropriate for you.
If you decide that you would like to continue then we would agree a regular time and day to meet on an ongoing basis.
