About me and my therapy practice

In light of the current and developing situation regarding Covid-19 my practice has moved online.

I welcome new enquiries with a view to assessing meeting face-to-face as and when this option becomes available.

Sessions will take place using Zoom video conferencing, a secure online video platform which still allows face-to-face sessions.

I offer short term and open-ended therapy for individuals, and can also work in Italian. I have experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds, and all ages including young people.

There may be many reasons why you are considering counselling at this time in your life. You may feel that there is a specific issue that you are struggling to cope with, a sense of emptiness and confusion that you are finding difficult to comprehend. You may feel that the current global crisis is too much to bear.

Using a psychodynamic approach of exploring both past and present experiences I can help you to clarify and understand your difficulties.  Together we would explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and confidential environment. Through the therapeutic relationship, insight into underlying emotional conflicts can be gained, enabling a deeper understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing and the unhelpful patterns of behaviour that you are struggling to change.

Practice description

Alongside my private practice I have been a counsellor with a university student wellbeing service, and I currently work with individuals at the Highgate Counselling Centre, where I also fulfilled the role of assistant tutor on the counselling skills course.

In addition to my work as a counsellor I am the project officer for a suicide prevention group coordinating and developing links between statutory and non-statutory mental health organisations across North London.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their ethical framework and guidelines.

While I am currently based in North London, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, counselling sessions are only available online.

My first session

To begin with we would meet for an initial consultation. This is an opportunity for us to meet each other, to talk about what has brought you to therapy.

An initial consultation is also an opportunity to understand more about the options of open ended or time-limited therapy and to discuss which approach might feel more appropriate for you.

If you decide that you would like to continue then we would agree a regular time and day to meet on an ongoing basis.

What I can help with

Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Obsessions, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues

Clients I work with

Adults, Older adults, Young people

How I deliver therapy

Long-term face-to-face work, Online counselling, Short-term face-to-face work, Time-limited
