I am currently only able to deliver sessions via online platforms such as Zoom. I am available for evening sessions. Please feel free to contact me to discuss this further. I know it can be difficult to take that first step, but please feel free to contact me by email, text, or phone so that we can discuss how I may be able to help you.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome. My name is Ben and I am a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership where together we can safely explore those difficult or painful thoughts and feelings you may be having; without the risk of being judged, criticised, blamed or shamed.
Life can be pretty tough at times and I think it is important to be able to talk things through with someone who is interested, kind, caring, understanding, and knowledgable about what you are experiencing.
Whether it is due to a relationship problem, a work-related problem, something that happened in your past, uncertainties about the future, or something entirely different: it is important to talk about it.
Practice description
Due to the uncertainties we are all in because of COVID-19, I am currently only offering online video sessions but I hope to offer face to face meetings in the future.
I offer open-ended therapy to adults for as long as we both agree is beneficial, for which I charge £40 per 50-minute session of counselling/psychotherapy. I offer a concessionary rate to employees of the NHS, emergency services, the armed forces and students - please ask me for more details.
My first session
I believe it is important to find the right therapist for you and so the first session is largely spent working out if I am the right one for you and if I feel I am able to provide you with the service you need. If, after meeting with me, you don't feel we click then you are under no obligation to continue with me. Likewise, if I feel that I am not going to be the right therapist for you, I will say so and will help you consider what other options are available to you.
In the first session, we will talk about what your reasons for seeking therapy are along with what you hope to gain from it and how we might work together to achieve those goals. In advance of our first session, I will send you a copy of my pre-therapy information sheet so that you have a good idea of what you can expect from therapy with me.
