About me and my therapy practice
Hello my name is Amanda, I am a BACP Integrative counsellor and supervisor.
This means I use a range of therapies that are best suited to your individual needs including CBT.
Life can bring challenges and with this we can feel overwhelmed, unsure of where to turn for support.
The issues that are causing difficulties may be from the past, present, or the future. I will be there to support you through your journey in therapy. Together we can look at possible reasons or solutions.
I have worked for many years with a charity organisation that specialises in survivors of childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence.
I have worked with children in school for many years.
My therapy room will provide you with a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space.
For me the therapeutic relationship is important for you to feel safe, relaxed and comfortable with me.
I understand coming to therapy can feel overwhelming but taking the first step can bring changes. Please call if you would like to find out more.
I hold an enhanced DBS
My first session
On our first session together it would be a good place for you to give me understanding what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to get from therapy.
This would all be done at your pace, addressing issues you feel ready to talk about. You are in control of the session.
It is also an opportunity for you to meet me, ask any questions you may have and to see if you would like to continue with the sessions.
