About me and my therapy practice
Choosing to start therapy can be a daunting prospect, it may take time to find the right person to work with, someone who you feel comfortable with or at least someone you are prepared to share your distress with in confidence.
I offer a non-judgemental space where I hope we can work together so that you can share whatever is on your mind.
I can offer both open-ended and time-limited therapy. You may come with a particular problem you would like to explore using a brief therapy model, or wish to spend more time working through issues which have been with you for a long time, and are holding you back from enjoying life, and feeling at ease with yourself and others.
I am a psychodynamic counsellor but I work with each client in an individual way.
I use an integrative approach which means that I may use ideas from different therapy models to help you reach a better understanding of your self and your relationships with others.
How we think about and relate to the past, influences our current thinking and behaviour. The aim of counselling is to help us learn how we can move forward and create better ways of coping and ultimately a happier life.
My first session
Before counselling sessions begin I will arrange to meet you for an initial consultation. This first session is an opportunity for us both to decide if we can work together. There is a one-off charge which I can discuss with you in person before our first meeting.
I am currently offering weekly counselling sessions via Zoom or by telephone. Sessions last for 50 minutes.
I can offer both short and longterm counselling.
