Practice description

I am currently accepting new clients for online therapy and 'Walk & Talk' sessions.

Many people seek the support of a professional counsellor to talk about their problems and find ways to manage their difficulties. By attending counselling, you are given a safe and confidential platform to talk about issues surrounding your thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours.

I'm a highly experienced counsellor, who has gained a wealth of experience of working with clients across a broad range of cultures, backgrounds and diversities. My professional qualification in Counselling was undertaken at the University of Chichester and was accredited by the BACP with a 'Gold Book' curriculum standard.

Alongside my private work, I work for the patient counselling service at the Somerville Heart Foundation. I also hold an 'Introduction to Mindfulness (MBSR) Certificate', which enables me to safely incorporate mindfulness techniques with clients.

When you feel that you are ready to start your counselling journey, please do contact me. I will respond to you as soon as I can. I offer a free 15 minute phone or Zoom call to have an informal conversation about why you are looking for counselling support with and how best I can help you. Thereafter if you wish to book an initial session, then we can of course arrange this at this time.

Sessions run for 50 minutes. You will be in control of how many sessions you decide to have and how frequently.

If you do decide to use my counselling services, please note that I must have your GP details in order to commence sessions. This is a part of my safeguarding policy. Prior to your first session, I will ask you to complete a 'Client & Counsellor Working Agreement'. This document must be returned before we can start sessions.

My first session

At the start of your first session, we will verbally contract, which includes setting professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Your first session will give you the opportunity to talk about whatever you wish. As your counsellor, I am not here to 'fix' or direct you. You are the expert of your own experiences and decision making. I will simply listen and reflect on what you feel comfortable to disclose.

If I think it appropriate I may broach 'homework' tasks for you to try outside of sessions but these are not compulsory. I also may use creative arts / props to aid your therapeutic journey during our sessions.

If you should have any questions in regards to how sessions will run, please always feel free to contact me prior to your first session.
