About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome my profile,
I understand it can be hard to understand the reason behind the pain we are feeling. We may struggle when trying to find some meaning and purpose to what we are going through
I am a qualified psychotherapist registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Supervisor and a University Lecturer teaching in Counselling/Psychotherapy and Mental Health and the first woman of colour to start a counselling/psychotherapy and supervision private practice in Bradford City Centre, Little Germany, West Yorkshire.
I offer therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to help you explore, understand and resolve difficult emotions.
I have experience of working with clients in various health, social care and community settings. Helping clients with emotional, psychological, social and relationship problems.
Over the years I have specialised in working with Transcultural Therapy, complex trauma, trauma focused CBT approach, PTSD, OCD, Inter-generational trauma, bereavement, Covid-19 trauma, Long Covid, Palliative Care, Bereavement - sudden loss, child loss, spirituality, religion, race, belief and culture.
Most recently, at the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic I worked in a hospital setting providing psychological and wellbeing support (long-term and short-term) to frontline staff, families and patients effected by Covid-19.

HOW I WORK
I have a Humanistic philosophy to my work which means I take a holistic view of problems. In the first few sessions we will discuss and explore any aspects of your health and wellbeing that have bought you to therapy. I help you find the way forward that is right for you by facilitating your inner potential.
Our work together will be focussed on working to your needs in a way and at a pace in which you are comfortable. I ensure we regularly review progress.
As a relational therapist, I believe working collaboratively to enable us to work towards the best solutions for you.
Depending on your need I may integrate other approaches. Approaches used vary but can also include: Psychodynamic, Relational, Solution focused, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Creative therapy. We will work together depending on your specific needs.
I can offer counselling in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
Session charges: £60 per session.
Couples counselling - £75 per session.
