Hi, my name is Georgina. I have been working succesfully in Private Practice for  12  years  initially along side full-time work as lead counsellor for a charitable organisation. I work with diverse difficulties including self esteem, anxiety, depression, emotional issues, addictions, and many more. Some years ago I specialised in the treatment of Complex Trauma and PTSD, offering CBT based interventions as well as EMDR and have left my full time post to focus on trauma therapy across West Wales, including Swansea, Carmarthen, Lampeter and Aberystwyth. 

I offer primarily online and face to face EMDR sessions, specialising in particular in Trauma and PTSD.

I offer the initial meeting free of charge for self-funding individuals. Partaking in counselling, or therapy for trauma and PTSD, is a very individual, personal and private journey which can at times be painful. It requires hard-work and commitment from both counsellor and client and is a two-way process - a sense of humour can be beneficial. Please email me to arrange for an initial appointment.

The initial session is free of charge as it is more of an informal chat to see what the issues are, whether we might work together, and an opportunity to ask any questions about therapy.

I offer a professional service delivering trauma-informed and trauma-focused therapy.

Therapy starts with a full assessment to help us develop a therapeutic plan together going forward. I deliver a 3-phased approach to include Stabilisation, evidenced based Trauma Processing, and Integration/Post-traumatic Growth. How long those phases are depends entirely on someone's own presentation and history.

I also offer a more holistic approach to working with trauma such as Brainspotting.

Therapies include evidence based protocols such as cognitive behavioural approaches, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Prolonged Exposure Therapy and many more.

Currently the majority of sessions are on line. It may be possible in the future however to arrange for sessions in Aberystwyth, Carmarthen, Swansea or Pembrokeshire.

The initial session is informal and free of charge. This is usually via zoom. If you decide after the session that you would like to go ahead, we would send you a Counselling Agreement and GDPR and arrange the next sessions. The way we work will be explained in more detail during the initial chat.
