About me and my therapy practice

I work as an Integrated Therapist doing both individual and couple counselling sessions.  I am a qualified Relationship Therapist offering both opened and time barred sessions.

I offer different modalities to meet the needs of the client including humanistic, CBT, person centred and Psychotherapy.

I contract with the client and risk assess to ensure I offer a confidential, safe space for the client to talk in calm surroundings.  The core conditions of empathy, genuineness and acceptance are at the centre of the therapy I offer.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a COSCA Accredited Trainer and I have a Diploma in Training and Development as well as a qualification in Delivering Training/Training the Trainer.

I work with organisations to provide training which meets their needs and goals.  I complete a SWOT - strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats - analysis and design a training plan to meet those needs with a step by step guide to the delivery of that plan.  I agree this plan and process with the organisation along with a timescale and cost schedule to delivery.  Feedback is obtained at critical points during the process and monitoring against agreed objectives takes place.  A review takes place at the end of the training to see that objectives have been met and to detail any further work to be done, again by agreement.

Practice description

I commenced the role of freelance trainer/tutor with various national companies in 2016 providing training and presentations to organisations and individuals around the country in respect of areas such as: Sexual Health, Sex and the Law, Bullying and Harassment, HIV/AIDs, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Self-Harm and Suicide, Bereavement, Mental Health, Relationships, Safeguarding vulnerable children, Confidentiality and Child Protection, Data Protection, Health and Safety, Food Safety Awareness, Equality and Diversity, Fire Safety Awareness, Medication Awareness, Caller Helpline Training, Customer Service, Conflict Management, Team Leadership and Volunteering. I both write and present the material to all age groups including schools and care homes (the young, old and vulnerable); I also undertake follow up work with organisations helping them to take the content of the courses forward and also to build their Volunteer programmes where necessary.

I am able to provide courses both in person and online.

My first session

The first session is about introductions:

who I am;

who the attendees are;

what the fire procedures are;

where the facilities are and when the breaks will be;

what the session rules are and explaining confidentiality of sessions;

what the aims and objectives of the training are; and

what the delegates hope to get out of the training.
