About me and my therapy practice

Hello. It's likely that you are here because of how you are feeling. Something about your situation is painful or difficult. You are struggling in some areas, and realise you could do with someone outside of people you know to support you.

You might be looking for ways to cope with experiences such as illness, bereavement, job loss, or divorce. Or, it might be that you feeling anxious, or depressed. Maybe you're wondering about purpose, life transitions or maybe you have underlying feelings such as feeling sad that impact your daily life.

There are a myriad of reasons people seek counselling, and every reason is valid.

I believe that we can find our way to deeper freedom and meaningful living, moving through difficulties when we have supportive relationships where we feel totally seen and heard. I can support you in the unfolding journey of coming into a different relationship with yourself or others whatever your reason for seeking counselling.

Practice description

I provide a depth of listening and empathic attunement to your unique story, in a container free of judgement. We will look into the problems that get in the way of you having the life you want, with some focus on an end goal you have in mind but more of an inquiry into the process of living and unearthing the conditions that hold you in limitations.

We focus on all aspects-psychological, emotional, bodily and energy. I sometimes use energy techniques and creativity when words are not enough/sufficient. 

I emphasise a deep and abiding trust for the process & therapeutic relationship.

The therapeutic relationship is key to gain progress and move through obstacles, to feel better, more relieved. Gaining a deeper self confidence, autonomy and self trust. Ultimately feeling more of who you want to be. 

My own life experience informs the way I work, alongside my training and the lens in which I view the therapeutic process. I aim to be trauma / culturally sensitive.

I consider the importance of a holistic experience of what happens in your mind, body and spirit/energy, how things feel and are landing in your life experience, in the 'here and now' as well as the connections you have, and have had, and how that may inform your sense self and sense of 'place'

My first session

You might like to begin with the initial session of 20 minutes at no cost to see if I am the right person to work with. This time gives a chance to talk more about whats troubling you, and for me to hear more and assess whether I can support your needs, if you decide to go ahead we will agree a time to conduct the therapy session. 

During our first session  you will get to see how it might be to work with me if you decide to continue, this might be an indicator of whether you want to return to work together, there is never an obligation. 

We will create an agreement for going forwards after you have told me more about why you are here, this will include expectations and practicalities and we will begin the therapeutic process and build our working relationship. We will agree a set number of sessions before review, agree a time and day.
