About me and my therapy practice
How we relate to ourselves and to others impacts how we think, feel and function. I work to shed light on how our relationships past and present shape us and how we can get stuck repeating patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us. If we feel misunderstood or not accepted as we truly are, life can be hard to navigate and symptoms such as anxiety, self-criticism, intrusive thoughts and depression can take root, while personal desires, goals, aspirations and dreams get lost. Therapy provides a safe space where we can explore together what has happened in your life, where you are today and where you would like to be. I will be alongside you to help you make sense of your experience, enabling you to think and feel differently, to foster healthier relationships, manage internal conflicts, trust your own resources, find joy each day and bring about change on your own terms.
I trained in an integrative approach allowing me to use a range of psychotherapeutic theories and skills to ensure I meet the individual needs of each person. The relationship between therapist and client is vital in determining positive therapeutic outcomes. I prioritise building a trusting, mutually-respectful, collaborative therapeutic relationship from which to explore whatever is troubling you.
I offer 50 minute sessions face2face or via zoom. I work from my flat in Leith which is easily accessible by public transport and also has on street parking.
My first session
After you have made contact, I will offer you a free 20 minute consultation via Zoom. This gives you the chance to meet me and let me know what you would like from counselling before you commit to regular sessions.
