I work from a comfortable, light and airy room attached to my home, where there is ample parking and total privacy. It is in a very rural location, a couple of miles outside Faringdon. My work hours are Monday to Friday 9am-6pm. If I am taking any holiday, I would always give you ample notice.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Person Centred and Integrative Counsellor as well as a Couples Counsellor, and abide by the BACP Code of Ethics. I also use CBT. I work with you in a very bespoke way as each of us is unique; I aim to help you find autonomy and to understand yourself better. This, I believe, can help you overcome some issues and to accept why they exist in the first place. I do long and short-term work, with each session being 50 minutes.
In my private practice, I work in a non-judgemental and confidential way which is often such a different experience from our norm. Whilst not giving advice, I do try to help you find a way to unlock suppressed emotions and make positive and long-lasting changes to the way you think and feel. I am very aware and empathic as to how painful therapy can often be and hope I can gently and compassionately help you through the process.
My first session
If, after your initial enquiry we make an appointment for a session, we will then meet for an assessment, which is when you will have the space and opportunity to tell me your 'story' and what you would like/what your hopes are from therapy. From this assessment session we can therefore mutually determine where to go forwards from there, ie agreeing to work together and booking future sessions.
