Practice description

As an integrative therapist, I incorporate a range of methods and techniques from my initial training as a person-centred counsellor being enhanced through Relate in studying psychodynamic and systemic approaches in working with couples and families.  In continuing my journey in professional development, I've gained  Certificates from Dublin and London in sex and porn addiction and am committed to working in this field.

I am currently studying Polyvagal Theory learning more about neurobiology and somatic practice in working with trauma.

I blend together all of my knowledge and experiences with compassion, understanding and commitment to your welfare to empower you in your journey in life.

On first contact and in having carefully listened to you and prior to an initial assessment session, I can send my Agreement to Counselling to read and sign (encrypted for your privacy) together with client resources for helpful and useful information when working online.  My privacy policy is available upon request.  Following an initial assessment session(s) we may agree to work regularly for six sessions and then assess to see if your needs have been met and whether you would like to continue.  You can choose either regular or flexible weekly / fortnightly appointments and either face to face and/or online.

About me and my therapy practice

Get the most out of your supervision and get what you need.

Everyone needs a supervisor. It is essential to sustain good practice throughout your counselling life no matter how long you have been practicing.

Supervision needs to be something you enjoy; where you can take your whole self, be honest and discuss perceived weaknesses and where you can freely and openly reflect in-depth on all aspects of your work to be effective, safe and ethical.

I qualified to ACTO Level 2 during the pandemic for online work and am on their professional register and offer supervision around the UK and Ireland via phone and video platform.

I believe in getting the most from your supervision and I need it just as much now as I did when I first set out almost 30 years ago!

Practice description

I have an Advanced Diploma in Supervision (Counselling and Psychotherapy) PCI Dublin 2005. I am an MBACP Sen Accred Supervisor from 2007. You will also find me on the ATSAC and ACTO supervisors listings.

I am an integrative practitioner using primarily:

• The 7 eyed supervisor psychodynamic model (Hawkins and Shohet, 2010)

• The Domains of Action - Systemic Model

• The Russian Dolls approach, which includes the often unspoken about ‘psychological contract’ (Proctor, 2008).

In starting as supervisor for Relate couple and family counsellors and then BACP Senior Accred Supervisor in 2007, I have a wide range of supervisees within agencies and private practice.

I offer supervision for individual work, couples, families and in sex and porn addiction for trainees and those qualified a number of years.

I also offer consultation/supervision for supervisors, mangers and Chief Executive Officers of organisations.

My first session

In contacting me I offer a free half hour introductory meet and greet session where we can begin to see if we are a good fit.

Following that I can forward my supervision contract for you to read and sign.

After 6 supervision sessions, I will review to see if supervision is meeting your needs.
