About me and my therapy practice
I offer Counselling for anyone affected by Cancer in the UK using Zoom, Telephone or Face-to-Face (Manchester only).
Cancer feels overwhelming. Whether you have cancer, or you are a loved one of someone with cancer, you are likely to be experiencing difficult and painful feelings, thoughts and emotions.
You may be angry, sad, scared or anxious. Maybe you are experiencing difficulties in your personal relationships or work life.
It can be a relief to talk to someone else, especially if you feel that you cannot share how you are feeling with friends or family. I will treat you with dignity and respect as you process what has happened to you and the challenges you face. By caring for your mental well-being, your quality of life, despite cancer, can improve as will your ability to cope with everyday life.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor who is passionate about improving the quality of life for people affected by cancer. Person centred means that my role as counsellor is not to give you advice as I believe you know yourself better than anyone else. I will provide a safe, non-judgmental, empathetic space for you to openly and honestly explore your feelings, thoughts and emotions.
I have also been a person affected by cancer and work as a counsellor for Macmillan. I am able to bring this personal and professional experience and understanding to working with my clients in the following areas:
• Life after cancer
• Terminal Illness
Face-to-Face, Zoom or Telephone sessions for anyone in the UK affected by Cancer
I provide counselling to anyone affected by Cancer in the UK using Zoom or Telephone. If you live in Greater Manchester you may choose to have your sessions face-to-face at my counselling room in Chorlton, South Manchester.
I offer weekly one-hour sessions which cost £45. I am able to offer daytime and evening sessions.
I can offer counselling to anyone affected by Cancer in the UK using Zoom or the Telephone. I simply ask that you find a confidential and quiet space to have the session where you will not be overheard or interrupted.
Not only is this as effective as face-to-face, but you may also find it easier to have the session in a familiar and convenient space that you have chosen. Some clients say they find it easier to talk about some things when they are not the in the same room as their counsellor (although this may not be the case for you).
Zoom is recognised as an established, secure platform used by many therapists. I take full responsibility for computer security including a secure internet connection and security software.
Face to Face
If you live in Greater Manchester you may choose to have counselling face-to-face at my counselling room in Chorlton, South Manchester. There is free parking and access to toilet facilities. It is also easily accessible by tram or bus.
My first session
I appreciate that counselling can be a daunting prospect so before you decide whether counselling is right for you we will have an assessment which lasts an hour. This is an opportunity for me to understand your needs better and to answer any questions you may have about counselling. You can decide whether you would like to do this Face-to-Face or over Zoom or the Telephone.
If you feel you want to go ahead with counselling, we would arrange a regular weekly session which would last an hour. You can decide whether you would like to do this Face-to-Face or over Zoom or the Telephone. This can be reviewed at any time to ensure we find a way that works best for you.
