About me and my therapy practice
Counselling with me here in Amesbury offers a warm, understanding and supportive space, for you to explore feelings in safety and in confidence. Maybe right now you aren't sure what is going on for you, or what you feel. You might just know that something needs to change.
I feel the relationship between counsellor and client, that is you and me, is really important for counselling to be helpful and effective. I have lots of experience in working with anxiety and low self-esteem, relationships, miscarriage and new parenthood, trauma and domestic abuse.
I offer a no obligation chat over the phone to see if therapy with me may suit your needs. You can ask questions and get a feel for what counselling may be like. Give me a call or send an email, that's the first step from here. You can find me at www.enquiries@ljscounselling.co.uk and on Instagram @ljscounselling
Practice description
I practice from a garden room at my home, counselling online, via telephone and in person. I trained as an Integrative counsellor, which means that I can use different theories and approaches in my work.
Online and telephone counselling offer support with convenience, saving on both time and travel. It is also a way of accessing therapy whilst shielding or isolating due to the pandemic or because of other health issues. Online and telephone therapy are effective and efficient ways of having counselling. For some people it is a preferable way of working together. I have undertaken additional training to work this way.
My counselling room is secure and private, all notes are kept locked away. For in person clients there is a discreet entrance with no public signage. I offer single use water bottles for hygiene reasons and provide hand sanitiser. The room is cleaned between clients, freshly laundered blankets are on the chairs, and we are sitting 2 metres apart. I keep a window open for ventilation.
Easily accessible from Amesbury town centre on foot, there is a bus stop 5 minutes walk away, I am approximately 8 miles from Salisbury.
My first session
From receiving your initial enquiry, via text/email/voicemail I will respond within 24 hours if not much sooner. I then offer an initial phone call, arranged at a mutually convenient time, which is without obligation, to discuss what it is you are hoping for. You can ask questions and just get a feel for counselling with me.
If we feel that you would like to begin counselling, and that we can work together, I send out my counselling agreement and a simple form to complete and return. We also arrange a time for our sessions, I am able to offer flexibility and accommodate shift patterns.
Payment is made in advance of a session, via online banking, or in cash.
